A Los Gatos architectural firm has been awarded the American Institute of Architects Silicon Valley Interior Architecture Merit Award for its design of a Yountville restaurant.

The awards program recognizes achievements in architecture and design of Silicon Valley individuals and organizations. DERN Architecture + Development won the award for its New American chophouse design for Perry Lang’s, with turn-of-the-century elements from 1890 to early 1910, when the steakhouse was born.

DERN Architecture + Development worked with Theresa Fatino Design and Skyline Construction to complete the restaurant’s design in October 2019.

“It was really wonderful to work with (a) team who understood my vision and translated into reality,” chef Adam Perry Lang said in a statement. “We had many challenges, as most projects have, but we saw through them together constructively (and) held true to the concept.”
