When Elizabeth and Adam Vawter asked DERN to be their Architect of Record, we accepted the challenge and joined a very collaborative team with a talented designer, Katie Price.

We were able to transform the empty cold shell into an open urban studio, a classic touch and use of materials, along with an energy created from the professional stylists to bring the LA vibe into downtown Walnut Creek. The design concepts pushed the Design Team, our Clients and Conscious Construction to go beyond the typical hair stylist station. A focus on the goals and our innovative design approach resulted in a one of kind salon that captures the Client’s imagination.
